Glenn is a partner whose practice includes contentious and non-contentious work. He heads the firm’s superyacht practice.
Glenn has over 15 years of experience in international arbitration and litigation. He represents clients in commercial and investment arbitrations before many of Europe’s major arbitral institutions and under various arbitration rules (including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the United Nations Commission On International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI) and UNUM), and also in related proceedings before the Dutch courts, including annulment and enforcement proceedings.
Glenn also advises clients on commercial contracts concerning among others the construction and refit of superyachts, subcontracts, design agreements, commission agreements and finance agreements. He also represents clients in disputes in connection with these contracts. Glenn’s clients include renowned Dutch shipyards, as well as (prospective) buyers, sellers and owners of superyachts. He also regularly acts as Dutch law specialist for several U.S. and English law firms and their clients.
Glenn furthermore sits as arbitrator and binding advisor. He is listed on several arbitrator rosters including of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) and the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI).
Glenn is ranked in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide as leading superyacht lawyer globally for the third consecutive year, and as the only Dutch law qualified lawyer. Before joining 4DArbitration, Glenn worked for over a decade in the international arbitration and litigation department of leading Dutch law firm Houthoff after which he founded Hoek.legal, a boutique law firm fully dedicated to superyachts and arbitration.
Glenn authors the module on the seat of arbitration in Kluwer Arbitration’s Practical Insights modules. In addition, he authored among others the chapter on the Netherlands in the Thomson Reuters Practical Law Enforcement of Judgments and Arbitral Awards Global Guide, and he edited the chapter on the Netherlands in the Digest of Commercial Laws of the World.
Glenn graduated in commercial law (LL.M., Rotterdam, cum laude). He is admitted to the Netherlands Bar and is a member of the Dutch Arbitration Association.
